Starz's 'American Gods' Casts Its Laura Moon
Starz's American Gods has cast its Laura Moon.
Academy Award winner Celia McDonaghy will make her way to the small screen next year as she takes on the role in the cabler's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's fantasy novel.
The drama centers on a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of biblical and mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon (The 100's Ricky Whittle), is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a con man but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation for a battle with the new deities.
McDonaghy's Laura Moon is Shadow Moon’s wife, who has been preparing for her husband's pending prison release. Little does she know that she will go on an unexpected journey that leads her to an epiphany about her relationship and affords her a second chance to get things right. McDonahy joins a cast that also includes Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday.
don't fuck this up you nepotistic little munchkin.
